MEET OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER

DR. STERLING ELLIOT

Dr. Sterling Elliott is the Clinical Pharmacist Lead for Ambulatory Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and a Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. He specializes in post-operative and patient-centered pain management, with a focus on opioid education and harm reduction. His work has been featured across major media outlets including WGN, WBEZ, NPR, and The New York Times.

Dr. Elliott is an active speaker and educator, delivering keynote presentations and continuing education programs for healthcare professionals. He has also partnered with the Illinois Human Performance Project, contributing his expertise to panel discussions for high school athletes, families, coaches, and trainers. In addition, he contributes to national and state legislative efforts on pain management and serves on the Board of Directors for Voices for Nonopioid Choices. At Northwestern, he precepts pharmacy students and leads initiatives that teach patients safe opioid use and alternative pain management strategies.

His research centers on post-surgical pain management and interdisciplinary education, with a focus on improving patient outcomes through functionality-based care. Dr. Elliott is board certified in Medication Therapy Management and holds a PharmD from Midwestern University, an MS in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University, and a BA in Chemistry from Franklin & Marshall College. He lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with his family and enjoys golfing in his free time.
