High School Athletic Performance in Illinois

Life of An Athlete: High School Athletic Performance in Illinois

This national high school athletic performance program was originally designed for athletes, however, IL HPP targets all students. High School students are challenged to empower others to set positive standards in health and leadership to achieve a successful performance. The implementation of the Human Performance Project may vary given the individual and the school. The power of this project is the way it can be adapted to fit the needs of each individual school and community that chooses to get involved with promoting a positive, healthy culture. John Underwood, the founder of the national program, showcases his knowledge on how lifestyle decisions can impact your mental & physical performance. Through the combination of scientific research and leadership development, this program is able to provide education to students, parents, & school personnel about enhancing their performance by identifying ways to build accountability and make healthy choices.

Applied Performance Sciences

Applied Performance Sciences (APS) is dedicated to expanding the capacity for performance in human beings at the individual and organizational levels. Achieving peak performance in any discipline requires a specific set of conditions and specialized preparation—physical, mental, behavioral, and neurobiological. With a unique understanding of these factors, APS has developed methods for applying them to teams and individuals to maximize performance. Founded by US Navy SEALs and developed in conjunction with Olympic and professional sport coaches, Veteran Navy SEALS deliver content and training that is applicable to any environment in which peak performance is desired.
